Rosavin
Phenylpropanoid glycosides in Rhodiola rosea. The 'rosavins' percent on the label is one of two standardization markers (along with salidroside).
Plain language
One of the two standardization markers on Rhodiola. The 'right' label reports both rosavins (3 percent) and salidroside (1 percent). Without those numbers you do not know what dose you are taking.
Definition
Rosavins are phenylpropanoid glycosides (rosavin, rosin, rosarin) found in Rhodiola rosea root. They serve as the primary standardization marker for Rhodiola extracts, alongside salidroside. The trial-validated standardization shape is 3 percent rosavins plus 1 percent salidroside, typically dosed at 200 to 600 mg per day. A Rhodiola supplement that does not report rosavin percent is a black box.
